We also have motor bikes and vintage cars and much more there is something for everyone young and old Let celebrate all that is great about Clondalkin. I look forward to another great parade in Cluain Dolcáin to celebrate Lá Fhéile Pádraig.’’

   History of the Parade:

In 2014, after over 20 years without a local St Patricks celebration in the village, Cllr Francis Timmons decided to resurrect the Clondalkin St Patrick’s Day Festival.

With a small committee of 5, a limited budget granted by SDCC and only 6 weeks to organise everything, Francis and his team worked around the clock to create a festival in Corkagh Park.

No-one could have expected the fantastic turn-out and Corkagh Park was filled with a massive crowd of St Patrick’s Day celebrants.

The Clondalkin St Patricks Day Festival is a community event run and organised by a local voluntary organising committee.

The committee took the experience and feedback from 2015, and building on the foundations we had laid, organised a massively successful parade through Clondalkin village in 2016 , 2017 ,  2018 , 2019 and in 2022 , 2023 and again in 2024. (No Parade in 2020 due to covid and online in 2021)  Over 800 people participated and over 10,000 people attended.  The parade was a huge success and it is due to the hard work and struggle of the current organising committee.

And in 2024  we hope to make it even BIGGER!!!!!
